Individual Therapy
One-to-one Counselling
Many people, at some stage in their lives encounter difficulties which they find overwhelming. Whilst family and friends are very supportive and have good intentions, there are occasions when it helps to explore issues with someone who is outside that circle, and who is a trained and experienced therapist with the knowledge to offer real practical support and cognitive therapy.
Given the often sensitive nature of the issues discussed in a therapy session, developing a trusting relationship with your therapist is paramount to effective treatment. A qualified psychotherapist is trained to listen with openness and compassion and to create an environment that feels safe and comfortable for you.
Our Individual Therapy
Every therapist has a minimum of five years
professional experience of supporting clients to explore their issues and emotions.
They are not there to judge you in any way or to push you to take a certain
course of action, but will work to help you understand yourself and others
better so you can make your own informed choice.
There is a rhythm to the sessions whereby the client brings the material, the therapist helps process it, and then the client can reflect on the discussion. This process heals the client because it frees the psychic pain we feel from distressing and disturbing events. We become stronger mentally, and better able to tolerate our difficulties.
Issues covered:
- Depression
- Managing stress / anxiety
- Panic attacks
- Insomnia
- Addictions (drugs, alcohol, gambling)
- Eating disorders
- Anger management
- Family conflicts
- Work related issues

One or more of these issues may be interfering with your day to day life. Counselling can help you take and get control of your life or help you understand why you are at this stage now. The counsellor helps to create a climate that enables and supports the person to resolve present or past difficulties, and change their life for the better.
C.B.T. (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) will give you contentment and happiness. It teaches methods whereby those who experience negative thoughts, low mood, anxiety etc can change them to positive thoughts, feelings and behaviours with a new way of thinking.
