Depression Counselling

Depression

From time to time we can all feel sad, upset and fed up. While these are understandable reactions to stressful events, it is also quite normal to experience them for no reason at all. However if they persist, it may be a sign of depression. Cork Counselling Centre can help you deal with these issues in a relaxed and helpful manner.

Depression affects one in six of us with no common cause or symptoms. If you are suffering from low mood or think you have depression you may not find easy or quick relief. Your feelings of sadness can continue for weeks and months, and interfere significantly in your relationships, employment and health.

It’s important to remember that you’re not alone and help is at hand. Our therapists are trained and experienced and can help you through this period.

Cork Counselling Centre can help

We can also help you decide whether you might benefit from trying out cognitive behavioural therapy techniques, which focus on lifting the spiralling cycles of depression and low mood.

Depression varies from person to person, but there are some common signs and symptoms. It’s important to remember that these symptoms can be part of life’s normal lows. Every one of us can experience low and sad moods from time to time. The more symptoms you have, the stronger they are, and the longer they’ve lasted, the more likely it is that you’re dealing with depression. When these symptoms are overwhelming and disabling, that’s when it’s time to seek help.

If any of the above is familiar then Cork Counselling Centre is right for you. Counselling can help you explore underlying causes of your depression and it can help you get in touch with some of the unrecognised emotions that trigger your depression. As you explore these triggers and the behaviour patterns that result, you can begin to feel better and make some desired changes.

All counsellors are experienced and qualified. They are located in Cork city and county and are available to meet you now. All locations are in private discrete premises, and you will be given full directions when you make an appointment. Please feel free to contact us to discuss any aspect of counselling, without any obligations.

Every therapist has a minimum of five years professional experience of supporting clients to explore their issues and emotions. They are not in any way there to judge you or push you to take a certain course of action, but will work to help you understand yourself and others better so you can make your own informed choice.
